What is Score Tracker for Flip 7?

A scorekeeper for Flip 7 and Flip 7: With a Vengeance (and any game played to 200). Enter each round by tapping the cards a player kept or by typing a number, watch the race to 200 on a live graph, and keep a history of every game you finish. There's an Apple Watch app for entering scores from your wrist, and a web version at flip7.ramkprasanna.com for anyone without an iPhone.

Is this the app that used to be called CG Score Tracker?

Yes. It was renamed Score Tracker for Flip 7 in version 1.4. Updating keeps all your players and past games.

Is Score Tracker for Flip 7 free?

Yes. No ads, no in-app purchases, no account.

What devices are supported?

iPhone and iPad on iOS 15.1 or later, and Apple Watch on watchOS 10 or later. On iPad (and foldable iPhones when open), players and the graph sit side by side. On anything else (Android, a laptop, a TV browser), use the web version at flip7.ramkprasanna.com.

How is the web version different?

It's the same app in a browser: scoring with cards or numbers, the graph, history and past games. Games are saved in that browser on that device. There's no Apple Watch, and backups download as a file. Add it to your home screen for an app-like icon.

Getting Started

How do I add players?

On the Scoring tab, tap the add-player button (the person with a +) and type a name. Anyone you've played with before shows up under Past players for a one-tap re-add.

How do I remove a player?

Tap the × on their row. You can undo it from the message at the bottom of the screen.

Can someone join mid-game?

Yes. Add them any time; they start at 0 for the rounds already played.

How do I start a new game?

Tap the circular arrow on the Scoring tab, pick Flip 7 or With a Vengeance, and choose whether to keep the same players. The finished game is saved to the Games tab.

Scoring

How do I enter a round?

Tap the score box next to a player. The sheet has two tabs:

• Cards: tap the number cards, modifiers, Bust, or Flip 7, and the app scores it with the rules for your game mode, showing each step of the math.
• Manual: type the number, with + − × ÷ if you want to add it up as you go.

Saving moves you to the next player who doesn't have a score yet. When everyone's in, tap Submit.

How are the two modes scored?

• Flip 7: number cards, then ×2, then +2 to +10, then +15 for a Flip 7. A bust is 0.
• With a Vengeance: number cards (two 13s count with Lucky 13), then ÷2 (rounded down), then −2 to −10, then +15 for a Flip 7. A round can go below zero. A bust is 0.

The rules are also in the app: start a new game and tap Scoring rules.

I submitted a round by mistake. Can I undo it?

Right after submitting, tap Undo on the message at the bottom. For older rounds, open the History tab, tap the round, and edit or delete it.

When does the game end?

At the end of a round in which someone reaches 200. The highest total wins, and ties are shared.

Apple Watch

How do I get the watch app?

It installs with the iPhone app. If it doesn't show up, open the Watch app on your iPhone and install Score Tracker for Flip 7 under Available Apps.

How do I enter scores on the watch?

Keep Score Tracker for Flip 7 open on your iPhone. On the watch, tap a player, then tap their cards or switch to the keypad (the button in the top corner) and type the score. The Digital Crown also adjusts the number. Save shows the total and jumps to the next player. When everyone has a score, tap Submit round.

The watch says "Open … on your iPhone" or "Syncing"

The watch needs the iPhone app running to send scores. Open it on your phone, keep both nearby, and the watch updates within a few seconds.

Graph

What does the graph show?

Each player's running total by round, with a dashed line at 200. While a round is being entered, a dotted line shows where each player will land once it's submitted.

Can I make the graph bigger?

Tap the expand button for fullscreen. It works in portrait and landscape, so it's good for mirroring to a TV. Pinch to zoom, drag to move around, double-tap to reset, and tap a name to highlight that player's line.

Where are a player's stats?

Tap a player in the standings under the graph to see their average, highest, and lowest round.

Games

Where are my past games?

On the Games tab. Tap a game to see its full race, the final standings, and each player's round stats.

What are player profiles?

The Players list on the Games tab shows each person's games, wins, best and average game, and head-to-head record against everyone they've played.

Can I back up my games?

Yes. On the Games tab, the share button exports a backup file and the download button restores one. Restoring replaces what's currently in the app.

Troubleshooting

Does the app need an internet connection?

No. Everything is stored on your device and works offline. The watch talks to your phone directly.

Is there a dark mode?

Yes, tap the moon on the Scoring tab.
